Ja Rule Pleads Guilty

Ja Rule plead guilty on Tuesday to tax evasion in federal court in New Jersey. The rapper admitted to failing to pay taxes for more than $3 million in income. The money was earned between 2004 and 2006, when he lived in Saddle River in northern New Jersey. As part of a plea agreement, the government dismissed two counts against him for unpaid taxes on income earned in 2007 and 2008. Ja Rule is expected to face his sentencing in June, he could face up to one year in prison and $100,000 in fines on each count. The rapper also faces sentencing June 8th in New York on an attempted weapon possession charge, that he plead guilty to in December, which he agreed to a two year prison term.
